Around the Web: Stone’s bio-pic on W; Chattaway on Pineapple Express; Links from Smith; Happy Go Lucky; and Hurst on Oberst

Some tid-bits, odds and ends, and noteworthy items from around the wonderful world of the wide web:

Here is he first look at Oliver Stone’s bio-pic W. Yep, that would be George W Bush. What a cast – both of characters and actors. And is that James Cromwell as another important political figure? A few years ago he was married to the Queen of England, now he is the father of the President of the United States. Nothing like a successful second fiddle, I suppose.

— Peter Chattaway from Christianity Today has reviewed Pineapple Express. I laughed a lot during this film but I think Chattaway’s review is fair. Here is Roger Ebert’s review.

— Tyler Smith has linked to “The Dark Knight’s only flaw.”

— Thanks to Jeffrey Overstreet for pointing the way towards this trailer for Mike Leigh’s new film Happy Go Lucky. It looks delightful.

Here is Josh Hurst’s review of Conor Oberst’s new album (stripped of the “Bright Eyes” monikor) “Conor Oberst.”
