As of today, you can purchase Wall-E, one of my favorite films of the year, on DVD.

I’d go “Heima”, the documentary by Sigur Ros (I think that was this year?). “The Visitor” was really important for me in ways of feelings on illegal immigrants, a major issue earlier this year in debates, if you remember. I found “The Dark Knight” unredeeming, but was ok to see Ledger as a supporting best.

Did you ever take the time to see “Persepolis?” Well worth the time. Very impressive message – Integrity – and very great use of art form.

Dec 4th last year for “Heima.”

I really prefered “Kung Fu Panda” to “Wall-e.” The message to “Wall-pod” was too “The Happening” for me, very forced moral (though the obvious one from the film). A cultish boogey-environmentalist-man scarefest for innocent impressionables.

Movies in 2008 I need to see yet:

    The Spiderwick Chronicles
    In Bruges
    Gran Torino
    The Tale of Despereaux
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

    (Speed Racer
    Hellboy II

  4. Hey man, thanks for the dialogue.

I’m going to completely, but respectfully disagree on the Wall-E thing (and on Honeydripper). I think Wall-E has rightfully been named one of the top 5 of the year by many publications, if for no other reason that its majestic re-imagining of modern sci-fi. Also, Honeydripper isnt about dialogue – thats the point.

Ill be posting a final list later, but my current top five this year:

    – Shotgun Stories
    – Paranoid Park
    – Dark Knight (redemption is meaningless except it is necessary)
    – Wall-E , personally didnt find its message forced.
    – Rachel Getting Married

The Visitor was excellent, yes. top ten.
