According to Huffington Post, it’s true. My favorite show on television will be renewed for at least two more seasons, in the same format at the current season. That is, it will be aired on DirecTV first in the fall, followed by NBC in the spring.
However, two of the show’s female characters, Tyra Collette and Lyla Garrity, will be relegated to part time appearances, which makes sense considering they have graduated and would have to be graduated from the ranks of the show’s premiere characters soon anyway. They will join Smash Williams and Jason Street as former frontline characters now in another phase of life. Hopefully they will all show up in Dillon, Texas from time to time.
I for one am abundantly grateful that we will get more of this great little community and more of so many of the characters I’ve come to love: Coach and Tami Taylor, Matt Saracen, Tim Riggins, Julie Taylor and Landry Clark.
I’ve said it again and again and I’ll continue to say it: if you haven’t seen FNL, check it out (you can catch the first two seasons on HULU and this season on NBC.com). It’s among the best written, best acted, best produced and most moving TV shows airing today – or any day.
