McCormick, one of the finest music critics there is, included the following in his review for Telegraph:
The theme is love in difficult times. Dylan’s shattered voice is high in the mix, crooning and croaking like a bullfrog impersonating Dean Martin. A colourful accordion wheezes away in the middle, while jazzy acoustic guitars and grungy electrics float in an out. Its a quirky, old time sound with the flavour of antique 45s yet delivered with the forensic clarity of contemporary production.
